Did Prince Harry Punch Prince Andrew Over Meghan Markle?

Prince Harry and Prince Andrew are portrayed in historian Andrew Lownie’s new book as being quite adversarial toward each other.

Their main beef, at least according to the book, is over Harry’s wife Meghan Markle.

Did Prince Harry Punch Prince Andrew?

«Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts, leaving him with a bloody nose before the fight was broken up,» one part of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York reads.

The book alleges the fight happened after Andrew told Harry his marriage to Markle wouldn’t last, and that he didn’t do enough research into her past before marrying.

Harry has since denied any such fight ever occurred, and his spokesperson has told multiple news outlets that he and Andrew have never gone to blows.

«Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,» the spokes person said, according to People.

Harry is the Duke of Sussex, making Markle the Duchess of Sussex.

Harry and Markle have even go as far as to send legal letters to The Daily Mail, which first published the book’s excerpts, arguing its characterization of Harry is grossly inaccurate, among other things.

«Such are the gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks made in the Daily Mail’s story, I can confirm a legal letter from Prince Harry’s counsel has been sent to the Mail,» Harry’s team told Newsweek.

What Else Did the Book Say?

This all started in 2013 at a family gather, according to the book, where the two «got into a heated argument, and punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry’s back.»

«According to a source close to both men, Harry told him he was a coward not to say it to his face,» the book continues.

Andrew later «openly accused Meghan of being an opportunist and thought she was too old for Harry, adding that his nephew was making the biggest mistake ever. The source said: ‘Harry later told [Prince] William he hated Andrew.'»

This also isn’t the first time the royal family, or more specifically Harry and Markle have faced scrutiny in the news and public spotlight.

Harry and Markle have fielded waves of media firestorms almost since the first day they met on a blind date setup by a friend in 2016.

There were rumors that their relationship was causing a rift in the royal family in 2018, according to Business Insider.

And in 2020 the pair decided to work on becoming financially independent by taking a «step back» from the royal family, eventually moving to California.

Even in California they’ve faced public criticism.

Their neighbors in Montecito, CA, view them as «local villains» and blame them for drawing hordes of tourists and driving up home prices, according to Realtor.
